Kaap Bloubergstrand by Pierneef Wall Art
This marine landscape invites the viewer to wander between small dune undulations and fishing boats, alongside the historic houses flanking the Bloubergstrand coastline, against the extensive backdrop of Table Mountain. The work was painted in London in 1934 while Pierneef was engaged with the mural commission for South Africa House.
Jacobus Hendrik (Henk) Pierneef (usually referred to as Pierneef) (13 August 1886 – 4 October 1957), was a South African landscape artist, generally considered to be one of the best of the old South African masters. His distinctive style is widely recognised and his work was greatly influenced by the South African landscape.
A great image for framing behind glass, or block mounting on canvas to create a focal point and conversation piece in any classic art lovers' home.
Please note: this is a very high resolution print of the original artwork which means every brush stroke, inconsistency, and even the texture of the canvas it was originally painted on can be seen. It is almost impossible to differentiate it from the original with the naked eye, but if you want a smooth, flawless, flat looking texture, we recommend you select a photograph rather than an art print.
