PRINTING
We only list art & photography that can be printed up to 3m in size at high resolution.
On photographs taken a long time ago you may see some graininess, or the canvas texture in some artworks, but this is how the original looks and how it is meant to be reproduced - you never see pixelation in canvas or framed prints from Pixalot, whichever size you purchase.
The in-situ renders you see here are low resolution for website speed purposes, but you are welcome to request a section of the high resolution print file to see the detail you will see on your purchase.
We print on a colour calibrated Epson printer for picture-perfect results.
FRAMING
Because we also manufacture for top interior designers and luxury decor brands, we do not import cheap product from China, unlike other wall art suppliers.
We make-to-order in our studio in Cape Town, using the highest quality materials and most skilled local craftsmen. We use only the finest wood frames (in black, white, oak, walnut) canvas, mounting card and glass available, and whereas most retailers use 25mm subframes, we stretch the canvas over 50mm subframes, which gives it gravitas on the wall.
All products come ready-to-hang with the necessary brackets, screws and wall plugs.

For your ease of shopping, we offer a range of standard landscape, portrait & square sizes, but also make custom sizes on request.
MOUNTED CANVAS
The size reflects the outside dimensions of the mounted canvas, as it will appear on your wall - easy :-)
MOUNTED CANVAS + FRAME
The frame gets added to the Mounted Canvas, so the final artwork size will be a little larger than the size you select (see table below)
FRAMED PRINTS
The size you select is the outside dimension of the frame, as it will appear on your wall. Within that is the window mount boarder, and within that is the print itself (see table below for dimensions of each element)

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR ARTWORK
Your wall art should be regularly dusted with a lint free duster. If a canvas has been marked, use a slightly damp microfiber cloth to gently work the affected area. The UV inks are durable and the mark should come away, unless it is a stain.
For the framed prints, you can use a standard window cleaner on the glass and a damp cloth on the frames.
WILL YOUR ARTWORK FADE?
Canvas or framed print wall art only fades if placed in direct sunlight. Solar UV rays are the worst thing for prints so to avoid fading, choose where you hang your prints carefully. When sunlight strikes canvas or paper, solar UV radiation causes a reaction within the colouring agent and breaks up chemical bonds. The ink then changes significantly at a molecular level, breaks down and eventually fades.
HOW LONG DO PRINTS LAST?
Pixalot uses high quality imported canvas & art paper, sophisticated UV printing technology and expert craftsmanship to produce the highest quality canvas and framed prints that will last for many years if the tips above are followed.
