"Golf Atop a Skyscraper" Vintage Wall Art
About the Artwork
In 1932, moments after capturing "Lunch atop a Skyscraper," the unknown photographer captured amateur golfer Tom Johnson daringly taking a swing from a skyscraper beam in New York City. Known for his fearlessness, Johnson, a steelworker by day, took the opportunity during a lunch break to combine his two passions. The photographer, seeking to showcase the lighter side of these daring men, immortalised this whimsical moment, adding a touch of levity to the portrayal of their high-altitude feats.
Please note: this photograph was taken on film almost 100 years ago(!) it does not have the hairline resolution of a modern day digital image, but the grainy appearance is what adds to its authenticity.
